Simulating realistic dispatch operations for the County of Santa Clara.
Tasks Completed:
- Implemented full * MPDS codeset (all EMD protocols) as “keywords” for triaging of events.
- Added all county EMS units deployed regularly in the county from a * list of post locations.
- Added 2 air resources (Calstar 2 & Stanford Life Flight) for dispatch out of South County and North County.
- Implemented all *receiving facilities (hospitals) that are permitted to accept patients in Santa Clara County, with realistic capabilities (stroke, trauma, STEMI)
In Progress:
- Adding realistic units and station placement for SCCFD (CNT)
To do:
- Add in Fire Department Units in their appropriate locations (SJFD, MVFD, SNYDPS, MFD, PAFD, MHFD, CalfFire CZU/SCU, etc.)

Great work! I have been dispatching a bit in the center today trying the system out for the first time. As a former 911 Dispatcher and IRL Paramedic I’m quite impressed with your setup so far. If there’s anything I can do to help I would be happy to. And if you wouldn’t mind sharing the CSV for your keywords I would be forever grateful!
Hi Stephen, thank you for your kind words! I am not sure how to export the keywords as a CSV, it took a few hours of manually putting them all into the tab, however if anyone can point me in the right direction as far as exporting them I would be happy to share it and save someone else the hassle!
I am currently in the process of creating a website to simulate ProQA and triage emergencies based on the caller statements in the sim-dispatcher app (added screenshots below), this would eliminate some guesswork in picking the right code and should speed things up.
Besides setting up the POIs and all the FD units for the county, I would love to eventually add in the various IFT companies that operate in SCC (Royal, Norcal, Westmed, etc) as they also are a big part of the EMS system here, and sim-dispatcher has a lot of good ways to integrate transport as part of the system.
Ultimately, I would love to see if an integration could be done with my website to directly input the triage information into the simulator and assign a lot of the details (not just for this dispatch center, but potentially for all). I would love to have experienced people like yourself test this out and spot check it for realism before making anything too public. Having ProQA and MPDS protocols linked into the CAD is the crux of EMD here in the US (for many areas at least), and I feel that is what a „US version“ of Sim Dispatcher should be.
Please let me know if you have any other suggestions! Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

I appreciate your willingness to share, though, I also didn’t see a way to export and probably should have checked that first. I’ll just have to keep plotting along one by one.
The EMD app to port into the program would be absolutely amazing. I would be happy to assist in testing. I shot you a direct message and a friend request in the game looking forward to helping contribute to the project.
