Welcome to Johnson County, Iowa. A growing area located in South-East Iowa, this county contains a wide variety of rural and urban areas. The Joint Emergency Communications Center (JECC) is the only 911 answering point in the county, and dispatches for 5 LEO agencies, 15 fire departments, Johnson County Ambulance Service, and the JC Hazmat Team. Radio communications are also provided to other units, such as Department of Natural Resources, Army Corps of Engineers, multiple hospitals, public works, and outdoor warning sirens.

Out of county units will have to be dispatched manually, if they are the closest unit
EMA Units can be dispatched for large scale incidents as needed, but do not typically respond to “routine” incidents
