Hello, I´m a Spanish EMS Nurse, with spirience in the american EMS sistem, and im building a dispatch center for my city, madrid, at this moment im trying to start with the ems units, because the Fire and rescue need more reserch from my part.
I hope all these information can help the developers when adding spain
I’m ading a table for my German and european equivalences how our units are name and wich type of units are, if you think that your country equivalent i wrong say it:
- EMS Units
- ALS ambulance: SVA, UME
- Propouse name SVA, UME if it comes with a doctor, SVAE if only comes with 2 EMTS + a nurse
- Spanish name: , SVA, UME (if its a UME it comes with a doctor, spanish law does not require a doctor to be present only need to be at least a nurse + 2 EMT),
- Law NAME ambulancias asistenciales de clase C
- Human resources: 2 EMT + 1 Nurse + 1 doctor (doctor it is optional)
- functions: Provide ALS, it does ICU patient transport bewtoing hospitals, If patient With an ecmo, it needs a Nurse perfusionist specialist and an intensive or anesthesiologist doctor) it can do normally neonatal transport, but there are specialize units for that, normal ALS calls
- European equivalence: German counterpart: NAW, french counterpart SAMU
- equipment: Type C as the UNE-EN 1789:2021

- BLS Ambulance:

- Spanish name: SVB, Alfa, Sierra.

- Human resources: 2 EMT
- Functions: Provide BLS, transport of patients bewting hospital that not require ALS or cardiac monitoring, do primary mission although, it does not administer medication. Acts as an ALS if use with a VIR, does normal BLS calls to

- Europian similarity: RTW-B, American similarity BLS ambulance
- Transport ambulance 1 Patient
- Propuse name A1, ambulancia no asitencial
- Spanish name: no asistencial
- law name; A1 ambulance no asistencial

- Functions: transport patients between hospitals no supervision needed, pick patients from nursin homes r dialisis centers, or hospitals and take it to a destination
- equipment: Type A1 as the UNE-EN 1789:2021

- Transport ambulance multipatient

- Functions: transport multiple outpatients at once, sometime in a predefined route between their house or nursing home to a destination, can transport people in a wheelchair

- Human resources: 2 EMT + 1 ICU pedriatician spcialist + 1 Nurse
- Functions: provide ALS care for newborn and premature baby with ICU need, it does ICU patient transport between hospitals, If patient With an ecmo, it needs a Nurse perfusionist specialist and, but there are specialist units for that, normal ALS calls
- equipment: similar to a VIR
- European similarity: Baby - NAW, baby-ITW
