United States Addresses and Procedures

Hi! Like a couple of other users have recently posted regarding other countries, I’m curious about the current status of the United States address databases and any related policy/procedure changes that would allow for a realistic or semi-realistic representation of US-based PSAPs dispatching for fire and EMS.

I’m currently a real-world 911 call taker and dispatcher in America, dispatching on a county level for Police, Fire, and EMS agencies, as well as a Volunteer Firefighter and part-time paid EMT. If there are plans to allow for representation of the US Fire/EMS system as compared to the German one, I’d love to be a primary source for the team and share any relevant information I can provide, as well as create centers for the game based on my local area.

My main question is, what kind of timeline can I expect before US addresses are brought into the game? If anyone is able to share. If the team is looking for sources, addressing data is often publicly available from county GIS teams.

I’m not sure if you’ve sent the message yet, but I’m having trouble finding my private messages on this forum. I couldn’t find a location for them anywhere after a few minutes of searching. Feel free to email me, or if there is another preferred method of communication, let me know! I don’t check my email super often, so I would prefer another method if it is available. I look forward to hearing from you and would be glad to help. And I appreciate the quick response! That is amazing to see these days.

Good Moringi, there is a posibility to do it with chat GPT, i do not know if that will work for the devs. i add the link to the answer, the first part is in spanish, it has created a python program to run, i dont know how to use python, so if there is aybody that knows how to use it and check if the program is sutible. these try is with the comunitiy (state) of madrid only, if u need information or documents for spain contact me

Hi Sim Dispatcher team,
I’m setting up a realistic dispatch center for east Multnomah County, Oregon (Gresham / East Portland / Fairview / Troutdale / surrounding unincorporated areas) and have run into the known limitation with U.S. address / street coverage. In my area the current dataset only contains a small subset of streets, so many real roads and POIs cannot be found via the in‑game address search even though the map tiles show them.
To help improve your U.S. geodata, I’ve prepared a set of official TIGER/Line shapefile ZIPs from the U.S. Census Bureau for Oregon and Multnomah County. I’m am unable to attach the ZIP files directly but here is the list of them and what they include:

  1. Multnomah County – all roads
    tl_2025_41051_roads.zip
    • All road segments in Multnomah County (FIPS 41051), including east Multnomah County (Gresham, Fairview, Troutdale, Wood Village, rural areas, etc.).
  2. Oregon statewide road and context layers
tl_2025_41_prisecroads.zip – primary and secondary roads for the entire state of Oregon.
tl_2025_41_cousub.zip – county subdivisions (useful for county/city boundary logic).
tl_2025_41_place.zip – populated places (cities, towns, CDPs) for Oregon.
These are straight from the Census TIGER/Line catalog and should be compatible with most GIS and geocoding import pipelines. If you prefer a specific year (e.g., 2023 instead of 2025) or a different file format (GeoJSON, CSV extracted from the DBF), I can also convert/export and resend.
I’m also building a separate CSV of operational POIs (fire stations, police stations, hospitals, etc.) for east Multnomah County, including name, type, full address, city, ZIP, and latitude/longitude. I can provide that once it’s complete so you have good starting POIs for this region.
If it helps with validation, I can supply a short list of example addresses that currently fail in the in‑game search (for example Gresham Fire Station 73 on SW Pleasant View Dr and Gresham Fire Station 31 on SE 174th Ave) so you can test before/after behavior once these datasets are integrated.
    Please let me know:
    • If these TIGER ZIPs are in a suitable format for your import process.
    • Whether you’d like any additional fields or a specific schema for the POI CSV.
Thanks for all your work on Sim Dispatcher—happy to keep helping with data for east Multnomah County as a U.S. test area.

If you could please reach out to me via email I would happily provide this information so you can prepare an update/patch with this new information.
